LDeX Group experiences 75 per cent reduction in connectivity latency and route length via Geo Networks

London, United Kingdom – 7 April, 2014 - LDeX Group has today announced that it has achieved an approximate 75 per cent reduction in route length and latency speeds between Telehouse North in the docklands and the group’s LDeX1 data centre in north west London via dedicated fibre networks provider Geo Networks. This will enable LDeX clients to experience faster connectivity speeds in the London and south east area, signalling the strength and growth of the carrier neutral London based data centre colocation and network services provider.

The lower latency connection will provide the data centre with a significantly reduced diverse leg to any Geo connected data centre enhancing connectivity to LDeX clients. The new route between Telehouse North and LDeX1 now stands at 36km in length compared to the previous 148kms, making it considerably shorter than existing diverse routes typically used to London Docklands and other data centre providers.

Commenting on the news, Rob Garbutt, CEO at LDeX said: ‘We are delighted to have achieved significant reductions in optical distance and latency speeds via Geo Networks. This will enable us to offer the required latency to financial services and media clients based in central London and the docklands area as well as onward connectivity to Slough, Park Royal, Manchester and other parts of the UK.’

“We are pleased to be able to offer a diverse fibre route to and from this site which increases connectivity options to LDeX’s customers,” said Chris Smedley, Chief Executive at Geo.

“Our open-access connectivity model means a full spectrum of carriers and service providers may use the new infrastructure and demonstrates our commitment to provide high performance, optical fibre infrastructure to the business-critical data centre market.“
