LDeX Announce Details of New London Colocation Facility, LDeX1

London, 16th December 2011 - London Data Exchange (LDeX), providers of network independent colocation solutions and data centres in London have today announced details of their new £5million data centre facility, named LDeX1.  The new facility is situated in North London, within the M25 and in close proximity to the Staples Corner junction of the M1.  The site will open in March 2012.

LDeX offer carbon neutral London colocation solutions to organisations looking to outsource their data centre equipment within a specialist managed facility whilst still maintaining ownership and complete control over their own equipment.

The purpose built North London facility offers protection against factors which may otherwise cause downtime to business critical server and telecommunications equipment.  Uninterruptable power supplies and diesel generators protect equipment from power outages and high capacity cooling systems manage and regulate the temperature within the building that is also protected by extensive fire protection systems.  Security features at the site include full height perimeter fencing, electronic car park barriers, two factor visitor authentication including facial recognition systems, man-trap portals, 24×7 security and extensive CCTV systems.  Additional space in the building will be utilised to provide dedicated client build areas, secure storage rooms and hot desk facilities for clients granted 24×7 secure access to their equipment.

Matthew Edgley, Director of Sales and Marketing at LDeX comments;

“Regardless of the current economic environment, investing in the continued operation of your IT infrastructure can never be seen as a luxury.  From small to medium businesses through to the enterprise client, LDeX colocation solutions are ideal for those organisations that are serious about maximising the performance and availability of their data, network and online presence.

Our economies of scale allow clients to benefit from infrastructure that would otherwise be unrealistic in a private facility and to avoid the resource demands and management overheads associated with keeping a high calibre data centre secure, maintained, supported and constantly live.  Our environmentally responsible approach and carbon neutral status helps our clients take a huge step towards their own environmental goals and carbon reduction commitments.”

LDeX have announced plans to open several London data centre colocation facilities within the M25 over the next 5 years to offer a continued supply of affordable colocation solutions within the Capital.  The company say their strategy will see significant investment into areas on the periphery of the central London zones, utilising local contractors and creating up to 30 local jobs per facility.

Edgley continues;

“Although the site will not be fully operational until March 2012, we are already in a position to pre-allocate some of the space.  We are in discussions with a number of clients with large and small requirements and are offering reduced rates and price guarantees for clients committing to space early.”
